Career Explorer Coaching Program
What does the Career Explorer Coaching Program look like?
Lauren Barlow Career Coaching believes finding a new career takes time and effort. The Career Explorer Program is for serious professionals who are ready to do the work to find their next career. The Career Explorer Program utilizes career development and career decision-making theories to teach clients how to successfully define and find their next job.
As a career explorer, you will meet with your coach to explore job opportunities, gain clarity about professional goals, and develop a realistic action plan that will allow you to successfully make a change. You will be expected to complete “homework” between each session to aid in your self-reflection, learning, and progress toward your goals.
This program effectively teaches career explorers how to articulate their unique skills, values, strengths, and interests align with their new job, develop a job search and networking strategy, and update application materials such as a resume.
What topics will be covered during our sessions?
Each program is different. Below are examples of topics and activities that will be covered during coaching sessions based on the career explorer’s unique needs.
- Completing assessments (interests, skills, values, strengths, personality).
- Learning how your professional strengths show up at work.
- Designing a personalized networking strategy to help you learn more about your areas of interest.
- Conducting informational interviews.
When you are ready to begin your job search, we will work on:
- Writing a resume and cover letter tailored to specific roles.
- Creating a LinkedIn profile that tells your unique story and strengthens your pivot.
- Building a target list of employers.
- Creating a structured job search strategy.
- Practicing interviews and mock interview sessions.
- Preparing for salary conversations and negotiating job offers
What will I gain from this program?
- Clarity and Direction: Career explorers walk away with a clear understanding of the types of roles, work environments, and industries that fit their strengths, values, and interests. They stop guessing and start moving forward with focus.
- Confidence in Your Professional Story: Through assessments, reflection, and coaching, career explorers learn how to articulate who they are professionally, what they bring to the table, and why they’re a strong candidate—even if they’re pivoting careers.
- A Realistic, Actionable Career Plan: Career explorers develop a step-by-step plan to explore new roles, build connections, and transition into a job that feels meaningful and aligned.
- Upgraded Job Search Tools: Through this process, career explorers will update and tailor application materials that are required by their job search, such as a resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile.
- Stronger Networking & Job Search Skills: Career explorers learn how to approach networking with confidence, conduct informational interviews, and strategically target employers who are a good match.
- Interview & Negotiation Readiness: Career explorers gain the skills to communicate effectively in interviews, showcase their strengths, and negotiate offers with confidence and professionalism.
- Accountability & Momentum: With structured homework and coaching support, career explorers stay focused, build progress between sessions, and avoid getting stuck in indecision.
How much time does this program take?
The Career Explorer Program will take as long as you need it to take to gain clarity around your career decision and to land a new job. Typically, clients spend 3-8 months with their coach working toward their goals.
How often will we meet?
Career coaching works best if you meet with your coach every week or every other week until you are able to achieve your goals. Sessions are 60 minutes in length.
How do I get started?
First, you must commit yourself to finding meaningful work. I’m going to be honest with you. The career exploration and job search processes are difficult, and will require commitment and dedication on your part to experience success. Once you have decided that you are able to make your career exploration a priority, you can schedule a consultation with Lauren. Then you can schedule your first session!
How do I pay and how much does this cost?
Career coaching is an investment in your professional future. Career explorers pay per session, and fees will be discussed during your consultation.
